GL’s New Look Not So Bad
Guiding Light has been doing the hand-held camera thing for the last week or so. They haven’t done the entire show that way, but they’re making their way to it. I actually kind of like it. Last week during Harley’s Inside the Light (ITL) it was interesting watching her interact with Cyrus outside of that God-awful studio. There was a certain realness to seeing her sit in a “real” doctor’s office (as opposed to that room in Cedars) and talking to a different doctor (than Rick or Mel). It really changed the show for me.
According to the show, they want to be able to show the characters in real settings, like real people. So, they’ll be showing them outside, focusing on their cars (no hoopties, I’m sure) and maybe even showing a character look at the time on their Chopard watch (Alan). They’ll show the outside of houses and buildings and let the characters interact with real town folk. This is where I grab hold of the hope that Main Street will become a distant dream.
The new ending shows a lot of scenes from outdoors. One included Jonathon. Now, this could have been from last year when Jonathon was saying good-bye to Tammy after which he ran off with little Sara. But I dunno. Reva’s been talking to him on the phone lately. So, there could be more to seeing that quick glimpse of him in the closing than just a memory.
All in all, I’ve pretty much decided that this is a really good move for GL. This may be just what Doctor Rick ordered.

Linsay Lohan got busted driving drunk twice in a three month span. So, the judge has no other option but to punish the poor chit. According to The Sun, Ms. Lohan is going to be doing some of her community service in a county morgue. I don’t think this is a bad thing.
I’m all for drug rehab for folks young and old. I think that those who just can’t help but drive drunk, though they know the law, should have to do a stint there. Especially if they’re rich enough to afford a driver to take them to and fro when they’ve imbided. Lindsay’s done a short stint in rehab, but I’m pretty sure it didn’t help. Next step? Shock therapy.
Spending some time in a morgue, where victims of drunk driving, and other drug related crimes, come in every day could really knock some sense into her. She’ll be forced to look at what she might have done if she’d not been lucky (I consider it lucky because she didn’t kill someone else or herself). She’ll look at the injuries and the final results and know that she might have caused that. If she’s at all human, that’ll shock her straight for sure.
At least I hope so.
