Sock Monkey Night Light

 

I recently received sock monkey night light for review. I had a sock monkey plush toy as a child so I was excited to be able to review one of their products. I’ve already purchased the stuffed toy for my 5 year-old daughter, but needed a new and fun night light for her, so I chose to try that. The Sock Monkey was an important part of my childhood and I have a genuine fondness for the little guy.

As you can see it’s incredibly detailed and relatively large. It’s a front plate that sits over the light mechanics. The colors are bright and cheerful and goes well with a child’s room motif. I had to plug it in the top portion of the outlet, so I don’t think anything with a larger plug can be plugged in the same outlet with it. But if your child has enough outlets in his/her room, that really shouldn’t be a problem.

 

 

The light is bright enough to provide the illumination my child wants without keeping her awake at night. I was a little worried that the monkey would scare her at night, because of it’s features, but she quite enjoys looking at it (and I think I heard her talking to it the other night). She likes it a lot better than the boring light we did have for her. And shines just a little bit further. If she gets scared at night, which seems to be quite frequently as she has night terrors, she can easily find her way down the hallway to our room without having to travel in the dark. Since we sleep with our own bedroom door open for that exact reason, I’m happy to say that the sock monkey night light doesn’t interfere with our sleep either. We’re all incredibly happy with the product overall. The only things I would change, I think, it the color of the monkey unlit and the weight of the front plate as it seems to droop just a bit when plugged in. But I don’t know if that would improve the product as you can see above it works pretty well when lit.

I do recommend this product for anyone with a child in need of a night light. Also for anyone who has grown up with their own sock monkey. It’s actually nice for collectors, parents and their little ones. I am very happy with this product, and though I am being compensated for this review, I would buy one as a gift for someone else (or replace ours if something happens to it).
