Should’ve Joined the Contest
A while back I wrote about the ladies I work with having their own “The Biggest Loser” contest. Instead of adding an exercise routine (or doing the work they were hired to do) they struggled with finding diet pills that work for helping them win the contest.
Well, the contest is finally over. Amazingly, none of them lost much weight. I guess they didn’t stick to their pill regimen because the most weight lost was 1% (they were doing it by percentages because some people were just bigger boned than others). They were surprised that none of them did any better than that. Of course, I could have told them that they weren’t going to. They spend a lot of money going out to eat for lunch and, well, a lot of time not doing their jobs. I guess gossiping doesn’t burn a lot of calories. Who knew?
So, I was kind of going a long with them. I’ve been trying to lose some weight anyway (for about 6 months now) and have been pretty successful. I consider 30 lbs. to be successful. And I did it pretty much just by changing my diet and exercising (a lot). When I checked to see how much I lost it was 8.5%! That made me so proud! Here I was literally working my tail off.
Of course, I have about 10 more lbs to go (isn’t that always the case?). But I’m giving myself plenty of time to do it. I’m not going to crash diet and hope I win the contest (I wasn’t technically playing along with them). I wish I would have been in the contest, though. That would have been $150 straight in my pocket. Well, supposedly. I’m sure they would have found a way to make sure one of their clique won anyway, but that’s not the point.
I won.
