Friends and Family

“Burn Notice” is back on June 4th with the season premiere episode called “Friends and Family”. I was able to get a sneak preview of this episode and am happy to announce that the show’s producers have outdone themselves. This season looks to be filled with even more action and drama than any of the previous seasons.

One of my favorite USA Network programs stars Jeffrey Donovan as Michael Westen, Gabrielle Anwar as Fiona, Bruce Campbell as Sam, and Sharon Gless (of “Cagney and Lacey” fame) as Mike’s mom, Madeline. everyone’s favorite blacklisted spy. If you’ve never seen the show, you’re missing out on something fantastic and easily better than most of what’s on network television.

What can you expect from the season 3 “Burn Notice” premiere?

Attention! Spoilers ahead!

If you’re new to “Burn Notice”, Michael Weston is a black listed spy trying to get off the “burn list”. He teams up with his spy cohorts, Sam (who works for the FBI and loves Mojitos) and Fiona (who he met in Ireland and who loves to blow things up), to do small jobs as well as find clues to who’s behind his burning. While he’s dodging bullets, playing different characters and generally doing spy stuff, he’s also working on deepening his relationship with his mom, Madeline. The show includes interesting spy tips that Michael offers in voice over, lots of action and an ongoing drama surrounding some of the most interesting characters you’ve ever seen on television. There are no ultra-dark forensics labs (which I hate), no predictable crime drama endings or cops losing their minds. This is a spy show, but without the help from the “official” PD or forensics people or anyone that can make their job easier. They’re using their wits, muscle and lots of fire power. I highly recommend checking it out.

Want a peek at what you’re missing? I’m currently working on a character page here with some video of the key players in Michael’s race to get off the burn list.
