Evenly Gorgeous

EvenlyGorgeousBottle I was recently given a bottle of Caress Evenly Gorgeous body wash to try out. I was happy to do it as I use Caress products normally in my daily personal maintenance routine. The bottle says:"Caress® Evenly Gorgeous™, with burnt brown sugar and karite butter, gently exfoliates and lusciously moisturizes to reveal smooth, even toned skin."

One of the first things I do when trying new body wash is to sniff it. I know that sounds slightly odd, but I don’t want to smell like certain things (pretty posies in spring time is probably top of that list). The scent of Evenly Gorgeous is very delicate and almost non-existent. There’s nothing remotely overpowering about it. That’s perfect for me, but if someone else likes a heavier smell when they step out of the shower, they’ll have to depend on their lotion and body spray.

It does have exfoliants added, so there is a little bit of grit. But only a little. Sometimes when a body wash touts itself as an exfoliant the bottle is chock full of sand or pumice or whatever it is they’re using to do the skin removal. It’s barely apparent in Evenly Gorgeous. And, like most body wash, you don’t have to use a whole lot to get the lather, which is very rich with this one. It’s a rich gold color and is actually a little soothing when used with a poof.

I’ve been using it for a little over a week now to see if it’s bold claims are true. I’ve got some rough patches on my feet and elbows, so I concentrated a lot on those areas. And I made my husband take care to notice the softness of my skin before I began to use it. It didn’t work miracles on those “trouble” areas, of course, because the exfoliant is very gentle and isn’t overwhelming in the bottle. But after a week I have noticed that my skin has a bit of a healthier shine to it and it is much softer. I don’t know that my skin tone is more even, however, as there has been no dramatic effect in that regard. In fact, if there has been an effect I haven’t even noticed. But that might just be because my skin tone wasn’t uneven to start with, so I don’t know if it might work differently for someone else.

I actually do recommend this product if you’re looking for something new and gentle. The soap itself is luxurious and the “grit” is very gentle so it won’t clog your drain or your razor but it will still make a noticeable improvement at least to the feel of your skin. And the scent doesn’t fight for control with your normal lotions and perfumes. The only thing left behind is softer skin.
