The Bad Girls
Have you seen “The Bad Girls Club” on Oxygen? It’s another “reality” program that features a bunch of strangers living together in a big house with chandeliers in every room, fancy furniture, a pool, and a really nice kitchen setup. These “strangers” are all young women with serious personality issues. They all consider themselves “bad girls” and actually are pretty proud of it.
So, anyway, I was watching with strange fascination as these women went totally beserk at every opportunity. I have to believe that they aren’t nearly as bad as the production team makes them seem. The way the show makes it look, all they do is eat, drink and scream at each other. It’s seriously like watching a train wreck. Last week, Jennavecia told her boss to basically go take a flying leap and she was forced to leave the show. Next weeks sneak-peeks show Cordelia and the new girl getting dirty with the boss- and possibly a lesbian love affair going on. I just have to shake my head at the prospects.
Then I did something even worse than watching two straight episodes of this show. I visited the message boards. It’s chaotic in there and I’m not even sure it’s about the show anymore. I think there are a lot of really young girls spending way too much time trying to be “bad” online.
Overall, the show is slightly entertaining and probably will go a few seasons. I’ve got to tell you, though, it’s a thousand per cent better than “Flavor of Love” parts 1- 1,489. Obviously Flava Flav isn’t going to find love on that show. Hello! Why buy the cow when there’s a variety of milk living down the hall- all free for the taking?
I certainly can see why reality television is so much more popular than good dramatic television now. Who needs fiction? You’ve got the Bad Girls shaking it up and living the strangest of strange reality.
