Police Brutality Caught on Tape
A TV news helicopter crew shot footage of a dozen police officers brutally beating a small group of men during a traffic stop.
The footage shows three police cars stopping a car on a city street, two days after a city officer responding to a bank robbery was fatally shot.
About a dozen officers are seen gathering around the vehicle and pulling three men out. Some of the officers hold two of the men on the ground.
Both are then kicked repeatedly, while one is seen being punched - one also appears to be struck with a baton. The third man is also kicked and ends up on the ground.
Apparently the Philadelphia Police Department has been on edge since a police officer was shot and killed while responding to a robbery call. One of the suspects in the robbery was shot dead, another was arrested and a third is still on the run. The occupants of the car seen in the video, though, were suspected of participating in a “triple shooting”.
The police commissioner says that there is full investigation underway, but that we should reserve judgment against the police officers involved. He did say that as soon as the officers are identified they would be taken off the street.
I find it suspicious that they can’t identify these officers simply by who called in that they were arriving on-scene. But should I reserve judgment? Should you? I don’t think so. I think this video pretty much tells the whole story- at least the part that needs to be told.
What as the police pull over the car and then swarm on it. Then watch as they pull the three suspects out of the car and begin kicking them. Each suspect is attacked by a small group of officers. Each one is kicked and beaten as they lie on the ground. They obviously don’t care that there is a helicopter overhead taping everything they’re doing. They think they’re above the law they’re supposed to be enforcing.
Does this make you feel safe?
