No on Issue 6

Well, the election is over. Thank goodness. It was starting to get stressful around here, folks. Now it’s back to thinking about weight loss while preparing for the real fun– Thanksgiving and Christmas.

There’s more than a little cognitive dissonance with regard to the diet during the holidays. First, I have to make cookies, pies and all kinds of other not-sweet stuff. Then I have to smell it. Then I feel guilty because I have to taste it. A lot. Pretty soon, I have to start all over. If I ever win the lottery I’ll be hiring myself a personal trainer who can beat me into shape after overindulging. Yeah, right.

At any rate, the proposition to amend Ohio’s Constitution to allow for a single casino failed miserably. I would have loved to have voted for it because it would have brought a lot of money into the state. Unfortunately it was a constitutional amendment and there was no way I was voting for something so frivolous with which to amend that. I voted for the wild life conservation and personal property rights, but I just couldn’t do that. Maybe next time they’ll just ask for it to be a regular, every day referendum and I can feel good about voting for it. I don’t mind people gambling (the lottery!) and I don’t mind people making money. Next time they should do it right.

Sadly, I’m going to have to go back to playing the dollar tickets every third day. Hopefully soon I’ll win more than $10 and can have my personal trainer.
