Holy Cow!

ChilliAt age nine, Chilli, a Freisan steer (or “bullock”), weighs in at just over a ton and is 6½ feet tall. He’s the same size as a baby elephant. His owners, the Ferne Animal Santuary in Chard (in southwest England), have applied to the Guiness Book of World Records to have him named the largest cow in Britain.

When Chilli was just six days old, he and his twin sister, Jubilee, were dropped off at the sanctuary. While Jubilee eventually stopped growing, Chilli continued to gain in height and weight. Though his size is monstrous, his proportions are all still perfect. He looks just like any other cow on the farm except for, well, his gigantic size. His handlers say that Chilli is very sweet and gentle and that he spends most of his days grazing

Though Chilli is quite obviously a freakishly giant cow, he isn’t the world’s largest. He’s beat by 2 whole inches by Fiorino, an Italian Chianina Ox, who measures 6 ft 8 in. Of course, the way Chilli seems to be sprouting up, that record might not hold for much longer.

Go, Chilli!
