Gustav and Palin
Hurricane Gustav is bearing down on the U.S. Barack Obama is now the officially the first Black man to be nominated for a major political party (though did Cynthia McKinney beat him in that aspect, she isn’t running for a major political party). And John McCain picked a woman with less legislative experience than Obama (who McCain has been hammering due to his lack of experience). All of this is very important news. But I’m not allowing myself to get deeply involved. It’s been a rough couple of weeks for me personally and I really was not that interested in most of it.
As far as Palin is concerned, I think McCain put more thought into shopping for pet supplies than he did picking a woman (Olivia Snowe would have been perfect for the job, John. Why not her?). I think that’s really going to hurt him in the long run. It’s sad that many women really are that petty to support this lovely lady just because she’s a lady. McCain believed that possible and he was right. Still, he could have done better. A lot better. I wonder if a presumptive nominee has ever been ousted at a party convention? My father-in-law was hoping for that. That would be interesting news.

It’s so clear he only picked her because she is a woman, how sad. It will be interesting to see the debates. I mean, less than two years ago she was mayor of a town of 9,000 people and now she is one John McCain heart attack away from the presidency? Yowza. I really like Palin from what I have heard and seen so far. I think she has a great career in front of her. But not now. Unfortunately, there are going to be a lot of people not voting for Obama because of the color of his skin and I think there will be a lot of people voting for McCain because of the politically inexperienced milf he has beside him. That’s politics I guess.
