Grammer Has Heart Attack
Kelsey Grammer, who starred in “Cheers” and “Frasier”, had a mild heart attack while paddle-boarding with his wife, Camille. Grammer lives in Kona, Hawaii- where he experienced the symptoms. He was taken to a local hospital where he was admitted Saturday.
Mr. Grammer most recently starred in the doomed “Back to You” with Patricia Heaton (who starred in “Everybody Loves Raymond”). I personally enjoyed the sitcom, but alas, like many shows that I enjoyed, it wasn’t meant to be. He spent years as the sophisticated and put-upon Dr. Frasier Crane on both “Cheers”- where he frequently offered advice and fought with his uptight wife Lillith - and “Frasier”- after his divorce from Lillith he moved to Seattle with his ex-police officer father. His character in both shows was often at odds with the more “common” characters around him. That role seemed to fit him, I think. It’s too bad he couldn’t shake that mold he made for himself after all those years.
Kelsey is expected to be released from the hospital sometime next week.
