Gimme a break
Recently, through EC, I read a post by a woman who’s husband is a real cowboy, meaning that he works on a ranch, with cattle supplies and the cattle. Her husband had just been fired from his job because the ranch owner wanted to give his unemployed son the position (apparently). This lady, of course, was angry that her family was being uprooted for no real reason and in her post she used words that expressed that anger quite clearly. Apparently there were some that found that language offensive and mentioned that to her (though I didn’t see it in the comments, so maybe there was email contact?). Honestly, I thought that was uncalled for.
Here is a woman who’s livelihood is her husband’s job, which requires that he live in a camp where he works. She has every right to curse, yell, scream and/or throw things right now. She shouldn’t have to mention in another post that she’s sorry that she offended anyone and argue that they should understand. They should keep their opinions regarding her language- in that post – to themselves. Or at the very least write a letter and then delete it. Don’t tell a mother and wife that the language she uses to express her anger is offensive. There are a lot of things in this world to be offended by and the occasional f-bomb really isn’t it. Especially from a blogger who normally is more constrained. C’mon, folks. Really?
