Gays More Likely to Go Online For Car Insurance
According to the eMarketer, “Gays are More Likely to Buy Auto Insurance Online”. Why?
“Because gay and lesbian couples most often do not have equal legal protections and safeguards as do married heterosexuals, it is extremely important for them to ensure their loved ones are provided for in case of accidents and death,” said Wesley Combs, president of Witeck-Combs Communications.
“There is a clear opportunity for financial and insurance providers as well as financial advisors to help gays and lesbians intelligently plan for their future.”
I think buying online auto insurance is an excellent choice for couples that aren’t “legally” married- including heterosexual couples. Too often traditional car insurance companies are quick to drop someone because of their living arrangements and competition from online companies can turn this all around.
Because of my illness, I don’t drive. I’ve never bothered to renew my license for a second time. When I first married, my husband’s auto insurance company wanted my driver’s license info. Well, I don’t have one, so they obviously couldn’t get it. Not long after he was dropped because, they said, I might drive the car anyway. My lack of driving is voluntary because of a medical condition, so why would I do that? It didn’t matter. The company my husband had been with since he was 16 didn’t want him anymore. Luckily, he found a better, less expensive plan that understood my stance on driving- and our research to find that company was done online.
