CLA?

When I was researching diet aids I came across a product called Tonalin CLA. I’ve never heard of this. Apparently CLA is a fatty acid that aids in weight loss and it can only be found naturally in dairy products and beef. The cows (or other ruminants– animals that eat grasses) eat the plants that have the ingredients for CLA and then produce it in their own bodies– which we then ingest by eating the meat or drinking the milk. This then speeds up our own metabolism and creates more lean muscle, which speeds up the metabolism and… weight loss.

Of course, eating a lot of beef and dairy products can be unhealthy for both you and the animals. Because of the a lot of people have been bypassing products that come from Elsie and family (with good reasons too). I, sadly, have not been one of them. Though I can’t eat dairy, I do eat beef on a regular basis. I’m not sure if I’m getting enough CLA from what I eat (once or twice a week). Now I’m wondering if my vitamin and exercise regimen can’t be helped with a little of this stuff. I think I’m going to talk to my doctor about it and see if I can benefit from adding this to my morning intake. If I can even a little bit, I’m going to seriously consider it. I’ve got 15 pounds to go and I seem to have plateaued. Adding extra exercise in this weather doesn’t seem feasible, so CLA might be something to kick start me back to losing weight.
