Big Error
This makes me really angry. I am planning to vote for Barack Obama in November and I deeply offended that anyone in his campaign felt the need to do this to American citizens who happen to also be Muslim.
One of two Muslim women who were denied visible seats behind Barack Obama’s stage at Joe Louis Arena on Monday because they wore head scarves said they deserve a personal apology from Obama and close-up seats at a future campaign rally.
AdvertisementHebba Aref, 25, and her friend, Shimaa Abdelfadeel, received apologies from the campaign Tuesday after they complained that they were not allowed to sit near the podium when campaign volunteers learned that they wear the traditional Muslim head garb called a hijab.
Aref said she was especially disappointed because she was attracted to Obama’s message of unity and inclusion. She said she’d like more than an apologetic phone call from a campaign official.
An Obama campaign official says it’s not the policy of the campaign to prevent Muslims in head scarbs (hijab) from being photographed near Barack and that this was unacceptable. What I find to be unacceptable is that anyone in the campaign would feel it necessary to disassociate Sen. Obama from anyone regardless of their religion but especially because they are Muslim. I have no doubt why this happened.
Someone in Sen. Obama’s campaign is worried about the freaks at No Quarter, Hillary is 44 and/or Taylor Marsh (I refuse to link to any of them because they are cesspools that encourage this kind of blind hatred). These are the people that are trying to pound home the idea that Obama is some kind of terrorist sympathizer/plant/mole. They are trying to convince average Americans, who have been fed bullshit fear tactics since Sept. 11, that they should be afraid of Obama. These sites have condone people coming in their comments and questioning Obama’s very citizenship. And someone in Obama’s campaign thinks that these idiots matter. Someone is trying to make sure that these sad, ignorant people don’t have more fodder.
Guess what? STOP making them so important! Who cares if there are some college girls wearing hijabs in the photos? There is a substantial Muslim population in that part of Michigan. Of course Muslims are going to show up at the rallies. Accept them just like any other American citizen coming to show support. Stop letting Johnson and Marsh have the upper hand. They aren’t worth it. Nothing you do ever is going to be good enough for these boobs. Why would you discriminate against a group of people out of fear that No Quarter is going to see? Please! They aren’t worth the energy it would be to link to the site.
I am angry for these young girls. I think that whoever in the campaign that made this erroneous decision should be fired. I also believe that Barack Obama should go to their homes and personally apologize for the mistreatment they experienced. Then he should get out and DENOUNCE the Larry Johnson and Taylor Marsh’s on the web and let them know that they don’t matter. Those people (at No Quarter, His44 and Marsh) are nothing now and they will forever be nothing. The girls who were told not to sit behind the podium at Sen. Obama’s rally are the important ones.
P.S.
I just wanted to add Google searches for the above websites:
No Quarter
Hillary is 44
Taylor Marsh
