Tanning from the PC
I was talking to my insurance man and asked if I can get key man life insurance, since I am self-employed and/or own my own company. He laughed at me. Nope, he tells me, you’re a one woman show so you’d have to get the basic self-type insurance. Beh. Figures. We did get a good laugh at my attempt, though. I’m still trying to make my little endeavor more important than it really is.
My friend and I were talking about entrepreneurship and owning our own businesses. She really wants to own her own tanning salon– mostly so she can sell tanning lotion (I guess that’s where all the money is). I want to own my own online-based business (eventually). She said we should get together and work on having a business together. Hmm, how does one go online to go tanning? Do you hook up the bulbs to the screen and do it while browsing? It’s an interesting concept, but I’m not entirely sure how we would pull that off. It would take some deep thought and consideration. And I’m not really into that kind of work right now. I had to change the subject to something goofy and unserious at that point. I would love to go into business with her, but we’re on completely different paths and it would take a lot of brainstorming to figure out how to merge ours. Ya know?
I’ve got a few more years of school left before I really need to consider it at all. Plus she’s not really motivated. Lots of time to think about how people will tan from their home computers.
