Katie and Carly… Yawn

Ok, the warning’s out of the way. I feel better now.

Quick recap of today’s endings on my favorite time wasters, er, I mean, soaps.

As the World Turns: Katie was peeking in on Carly, who was dancing in her livingroom to some song I’ve never heard. Carly’s days are sooo numbered.

My thoughts on the show:  Yawn. I’m sick of Katie. Period. She should’ve known better than to jump right into marriage with Jack. DUH. That’s just a messed up storyline that is going nowhere. Want Katie and Brad together? Just put them together! Quit torturing us with visions of Jack and Katie in love. *Gag*

And what the hell is going on with Gwen/Will/their Mothers? According to the spoilers, Gwen and Will will adopt Sophie’s baby. This I know. So I can see where it’s leading- sort of. But if someone doesn’t read the spoilers? They might be checking to see if their iced tea is spiked.

I predict that Iris and whats-his-name (Gwen’s brother) will make a deal with Will and Gwen so that they can have Sophie’s baby. Of course, it won’t backfire on them because someone somewhere thought Gwen’s insane family makes for good t.v. To that person: THEY DON’T.

Guiding Light: Alex leaves a rose in the demolished church (not so demolished, actually, but just enough) while Cyrus’ hand just lies beneath the rubble. Unless it was Harley’s hand, in which case, she’s got some very masculine hands.

My thoughts on the show: Phillip’s not coming back, so quit trying to tease people. That stuff gets old real fast. Of course, there are still people alive who don’t use their Internet connections to read the spoilers, so it might work on them, but the rest of us? We’re soo over it.

Olivia and Gus? What? That’s just a little too much. Honestly, Alan would have done better to enlist the help of Ava The Tramp. I don’t see Gus falling for it. Though Natalia The Pure and Good might. Still, it doesn’t work. I’d rather see Gus and Alan actually vying for the chick than to see Olivia play pawn to Alan.

What’s the point of showing Beth and Rick? To remind us they’re still characters on the show? Yawn. Over it. Please bring these two back and UTILIZE them. Give them lines and scenes and let us wallow in their goodness. There is some serious drama to be had there and what do we get? Props for that crappy Olivia/Alan/Gus/Not really Phillip plot.

And will someone please give the woman who plays Marina some lessons? She’s doing a really bad job of crying and being heartbroken. She looks more like she’s about to sneeze and can’t get it out. Not good, not good. I see her and want to smack my t.v. Bonnie Dennison can give her some lessons. Now there’s a good crier.

Spoilers for this week are looking decent for both shows. More boredom on As the World Turns as Katie becomes suspicious of Carly. Duh- again. Supposedly Jack agrees to remarry Carly. Talk about quick! And… Well, I didn’t get that far with ATWT. All that Jack/Carly/Katie stuff makes my eyes burn.

On GL,Gus asks Harley for an annulment (can you believe she’s not dead?), Cassie somehow outs Rick’s secret to Beth (It’s Alan’s kid- good going Cassie The Bubble Popper), obviously Harley and Cyrus make it out alive. Shocker there. I don’t have anything else, but will update if I get around to it.

I would love to see Jonathon pop back in town and/or for Lizzie to find out about Sara. I’d also love for more Rafe and Daisy drama (those two can act! I love ‘em). On ATWT, I want more Willen, without her mama. And more Lily and Holden. What’s going on there? I think Holden should find a girlfriend and Dusty and Lily should momentarily hook up. Oh, that would be good. Oh, and can Paul and Meg just get married? They’re little back and forth is getting old real fast.
