Erock and The Cinnamon Challenge
Heard of the “Cinnamon Challenge”? It’s a nice little challenge where the brave put a tablespoon of cinnamon and attempt to ingest it. Apparently, it’s an impossible feat.
Erock of “The Opie and Anthony Show” took the Cinnamon Challenge recently and it was caught on video. Poor Erock takes a tablespoonful of cinnamon and then immediately literally pukes it right back up. But not the normal way. Nope, it just comes out in a cloud of dust. I saw the “Erock Cinnamon” video over at LiveLeak. Then I found the “Erock Cinnamon Challenge” on YouTube.
A Tale of Erock, Cinnamon, and Stupidity
Erock and the guys of “The Opie and Anthony Show” spent all day watching Cinnamon Challenge videos on YouTube and decided that it would be fun to give it a shot. Obviously since Erock is so cool, he’ll be able to finally kick Cinnamon’s butt and put an end to that particular myth. So someone gets the cinnamon ready and shoves it into Erock’s mouth. No sooner than it was inside did the poor guy immediately puke/cough it right back out. There’s a huge cloud of cinnamon dust and maybe some bodily fluids. It’s not a pretty sight. While his friends laughed he choked and puked and had a rough time of it.
Now, due to Erock’s Cinnamon stupidity we’ll probably see more and more kids on YouTube trying to debunk the myth. That, of course, means that some kids will probably get seriously injured and even die. Check out this video of this chick nearly choking to death from the Cinnamon Challenge. I wonder if her guy would be laughing so hard if she actually did choke to death on the cinnamon.

Wow, you know nothing about the show, huh?
1) Erock is one of the producers for the show and had recently screwed up, so the guys were trying to find some way to punish him. He didn’t think he was cool, it was just another way to abuse him
2) While contemplating a way to humiliate and torture him, a guy called in and mentioned the cinnamon challenge videos on YouTube, so the guys check them out, see the people in distress, think it’ll be perfect to torture Erock with and set it up.
3) This morning, they disclaimered the HELL out of it after seeing how bad Erock reacted to it and getting info from people saying how dangerous this could be.
4) If some kid tries this, after seeing how awful the reaction is, and they DO die, then Darwinism works.
Know what you’re talking about before you go spouting off about it.
No shit? Ya think? Before you come spouting off how about reading some of the blog? I was laughing at what idiots do for ratings. Obviously they’re idiots. And if you looked at the other video I linked to you would notice that some girl actually almost did die from doing this nonsense.
Thanks for playing.
Lizzie,
The cinnamon challenge is almost an internet meme at this point. It’s been on every major site for years. O&A didn’t invent it, nor are they the shepherds of a new cinnamon age. You’re overreacting.
Hi, Sean, welcome.
Overreacting to what? I think it’s an idiotic stunt and mentioned that in a very short post. Why is that overreacting? Please tell me. Am I calling for a boycott? No. Am I demanding that the FCC fine them? Nope. Am I organizing a letter writing campaign to have their advertisers pull out? Nah.
That would be overreacting.
I’m a woman who has grown past the age when I would feel the need to do silly little stunts to prove my invincibility. And I’m getting to the age where I’m a little louder than I should be (in certain situations). I haven’t gotten to the point where I want to actually impede any other grown folks from causing themselves pain and discomfort. (Hint: That would be overreacting.)
So to sum it up:
I think Erock is an idiot. But he did provide me with some blog fodder.
For the record:
I also think people that compare Google to Nazis and/or Osama bin Laden are idiots and that NBC has committed a cardinal sin for cancelling my favorite show. None of these have anything to do with the other except that they’re my opinions.
Thanks.

This is overreacting.
Reread your post. It’s almost shrill
